Splunk Administrator This position can be located within a 50 mile radius of an Anthem office We are looking for a Splunk Administrator who can support our Enterprise On-Prem Splunk environment. We ingest 12+ Tb/ day of data with a forecasted growth of 30% by end of the year. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a large multi-site Splunk Cluster.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installing and Upgrading Splunk Universal Forwarders across various platforms - Unix, Linux, Windows, AWS and Desktops.
  • On-boarding new data/application to Splunk, troubleshooting issue in the Splunk cluster, upgrades and supporting day to day administration.
  • On-call mainly consists of supporting the users and the TOC with issues and will be for about a week / month.
  • Troubleshooting issue in the Splunk cluster, supporting upgrades and patches of the Splunk cluster.
  • Working with users to create reports, dashboards and troubleshoot issues with ingestion.
  • Continuously looking for areas of improvement e.g. reducing errors in the internal logs etc
Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; 5 to 8 years of IT experience and extensive Splunk experience required.
  • Experience with supporting large On-Prem Enterprise Splunk.
  • Experience with installing and upgrading of Universal Forwarders
  • Splunk Admin Certification is a big plus.
  • Experience with logging e.g. syslog, syslog-ng is a plus.
  • Splunk hosted on Linux platform so experience with Linux is a must.
  • Understanding of Containers - Kubernetes, OpenShift, ECS etc.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Cloud is a plus.
