We have a new, contract-to-hire opportunity for a Field Service Technician located in the West Hills, CA area who is able to work Thursday through Monday, 10 am to 7 pm. This is a driving position which requires a DMV background check to be completed.Use of reliable, personal vehicle required - miles reimbursed according to CompuCom policy. Scope of Activity:
- Provide dispatch field support, including break / fix and printer support
- Support POS systems or desktop / laptop units
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
- Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and systems groups
- Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Works under immediate supervision
- Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
- Typically reports to a project leader or manager
- May require an Associate's degree or its equivalent
- Entry level - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver s license required (driving position - reimbursed accordingly)
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
- Must have installation experience, mounting equipment to walls, countertops, etc.
- Ability to upgrade OS software and transfer data if required
- Field service experience and printer break / fix repair required
- Reimaging and updating O / S experience required
- Proven excellent desktop support experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to follow written instructions independently
- CompTIA A+ certification preferred
