At Synthetic Genomics, Inc., we are dedicated to developing and commercializing genomic-driven solutions to address global challenges. We are currently seeking a Facilities Technician to join our fast-growing, dynamic and collaborative team in Calipatria, CA. Under close supervision, performs entry-level duties as assigned in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery used in the operation of facilities, including production, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Perform a variety of maintenance and repair work independently as instructed by other technical trade technicians.
Perform a variety of building maintenance duties.
Maintain grounds, facilities, and mobile equipment.
Repair, assemble, install, and assist in the construction of new projects and installation of new equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections.
Maintain routine records related to maintenance activities.
Operate a variety of equipment and machines such as trucks, saws, drills, sanders, pipe threaders, welding equipment and other hand and power tools; operate a forklift as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular attendance.
Required Experience
High school diploma, GED, or its equivalent.
A combination of training and / or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered when determining minimum qualifications.
Methods, equipment, and materials used in maintenance and repair work.
Basic shop math.
Appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
Perform semi-skilled to unskilled maintenance work independently as instructed or assist skilled maintenance trades personnel.
Operate a variety of maintenance equipment and machines including hand and power tools.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
Communicate effectively with others.
Maintain routine records.
Work cooperatively with others.
Physical Requirements
Operate tools to perform the duties of the position, power and mechanical tools, special electronics, and work-related machinery.
Transport equipment or boxes up to 50lbs
Exchange ideas by means of communication established by company.
Able to work outdoors and in different climate conditions.
Balance, ascend/descend, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, crouch or crawl within assigned working conditions and or locations.
