Los Angeles area.Report to the VP of IT and run this busy small IT department consisting of 2 Sr. Programmers, 1 Network Admin and 1 Systems Admin person. No Programming, but should have come up through programming and be technically savvy with not only IBM i and RPG, but EDI, some understanding of managing Microsoft Servers, .Net, managing support of over a dozen regional offices throughout the US as well alliances with strategic partners globally. Must be familiar with EDI. You should be current with IBM i architecture, new technologies, security, best practices for IBM i and RPG environments along with some experience with managing Windows Servers and use of tools like Microsoft.Net. This company is involved in Supply Chain, Logistics, Import-Export, Customs. There could be some remote work, but they really prefer this position is on-site the majority of the time. The position is to replace the current IT manager who is retiring in 3 months.Great benefits include a bonus plan, 401K and great health insurance plans. Great location in a modern business park close to the 710 freeway, 60 freeway and 10 freeway.

Required experience:
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience; preferred industry experience in international logistics; Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and services.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and operating of IBM i - iSeries hardware/software systems and Microsoft servers.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation.
  • Server virtualization and high-performance storage system administration.
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written), follow up, customer service skills, problem solving skills, organization/planning skills, good listening skills, and patience.
  • Must demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with individuals at all levels within and outside the office, providing customer service and resolving difficulties while being professional and ethical, acting with integrity, and being courteous and respectful to others.
  • Excellent project management skills – design, development, implementation, documentation, and communication.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail in a fast paced, high pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
