Job Description: SMCI is seeking a Specialist Information Management Compliance to work closely with Records and Information Management (RIM) leadership to educate and align records and information management capabilities, stakeholder confidence, and organizational alignment as it relates to the information lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on global information management policies, controls and services
  • Address records and information management capabilities and practices in support of existing and evolving information and compliance risks
  • Ensure information related policies comply with HIPAA, PCI, GxP, SOX and other applicable regulations
  • Monitor records management compliance requirements and controls
  • Liaise with business units to ensure good information practices and controls are effective and appropriately meet relevant information risk, policy and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with IS teams to drive value propositions for content management, search, disposition, and analytics
  • Socialize and maintain good information management practices, guidance and training across the enterprise
  • Support and advise staff globally with best practices for reducing their physical footprint in compliance with decommissioning and disposition policies, procedures, laws and regulations

    Qualifications
  • Experience supporting effective records and information management policies enterprise-wide
  • Understands how to guide and educate staff in good information management practices and how to effectively manage their physical and electronic information
  • Understands data classification, data protection and records retention, what drives each, and how each is important to information management best practices
  • Ability to identify and inform management of issues that impact records and information management compliance
  • Experience writing new and evolving existing records and information management policies, and interpret relevant legislation and regulations that drive policy
  • Customer service experience and management of global information management services
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Exhibits strong communication and consulting skills relevant to information management and the management of global information management services
  • Affiliation with industry records and information management networks and professional associations
  • Technology savvy, highly collaborative partner, and strategic thinker
  • Possesses solid project management, process improvement, analytical, and presentation skills

    Basic Qualifications
    o Masters degree and 4 years of Information Management experience.
    OR
    o Bachelors degree and 6 years of Information Management experience
    OR
    o Associate degree and 8 years of Information Management experience
    OR
    o High school diploma / GED and 10+ years of Information Management experience

    Preferred Qualifications
    o Masters degree in Computer Science or Information Management
    o Experience working with legal organizations or as a Para Legal
    o Demonstrated experience as a RIM specialist managing small to medium-sized security related, information management projects with toolsets supporting: data classification, labeling, retention and Legal Hold
    o Demonstrated formal technical support and customer success management experience with a technology company while exhibiting strong communication, advisory skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and analytical expertise relevant to information management
    o Demonstrated ability to develop, document, lead, and communicate processes then, follow accepted IS policies and standards while working independently and providing recommendations on strategies
    o Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, facilitation, work planning, a troubleshooting aptitude, and multitasking using intellectual curiosity to collaborate actively with thought partners across functional areas
    o In depth understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to assess new technology capabilities as they present themselves in the market with a proven capacity to move products from Demo and Proof of Concept to Pilot and Production quickly
    o Experience delivering new technologies, mitigating risk and delivering innovation while developing training programs designed to educate end users about basic and specialized applications in a dynamic team environment
    o One or more of the following certifications:
    ? Certified Information Governance Officer (CIGO)
    ? Information Governance Professional Certification (IGP)
    ? Certified Records Manager (CRM)
