- Screen incoming reports for differential analysis and alert-able aviation hazards
- Code Reports at either abbreviated or full-form standards, providing insightful diagnosis of reported events
- Assist the development of draft Alert Bulletin and FYI alerts
- Support topical research efforts in areas such as issue identification and coding
- Selection of topical and timely reports for us in ASRS’s CALLBACK publication
- Assist in Quick-Response efforts as required
- Develop and prepare presentations and briefings as required for various aviation constituencies.
- Collaborate with the UAS team to advocate for improved data collection
- FAA Part 107 Certified Pilot
- FAA Private Pilot Certified
- Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Excellent writing
- Ability to successfully complete a background investigation required to obtain NASA badge
- Ability to work remotely or in an office as required.
- Minimum combined 10 years of experience in the following operational areas (unmanned and manned aircraft): commercial airlines, general aviation, air traffic control, maintenance and/or cabin operations.
- Minimum of 3 years UAS flying experience (various configurations and/or various manufacturers preferred)
- Knowledge of UAS aircraft and systems a plus
- Knowledge of various UAS operations a plus (delivery, agriculture, photography, mapping/surveying…etc)
- Familiarity with the documentation and regulations of the Aviation Safety Reporting System, as well as relevant Federal Aviation Regulations, maintenance regulations, and FAA Controller Policy.
- B.S. degree required in relevant domain field or commensurate relevant experience
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
