(Hybrid Remote)Windows System Administrator Summary:Hands-on day-to-day Windows System Administration, Storage (Dell, Isilon & Compellent), VMWare, Cisco UCS, nice to have experience with Cloud. Job Summary:This position will oversee the day-to-day administration work of DoIT Data Center' Systems Administration and Infrastructure team. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, organizing and overseeing all Data Center infrastructure activities. The incumbent will provide technical leadership and project management support to the Infrastructure team technical staff under the overall supervision of the Sys Admin and Infrastructure Manager. This position will be able to act as an SME for WINDOWS Infrastructure, including storage and compute and all associated components. The incumbent is responsible for establishing and maintaining system standards and participates in the development of long-range technology plans. The incumbent provides technical advice and recommends policies, procedures, enhancements and acquisition of new technology, hardware, software and services. The incumbent will also be responsible for creating a roadmap for providing all county services to the constituents using cloud technology and will contribute to the County BR/DR strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day to day hands on Windows System Administration
  • Plan and implement upgrades or enhancements to any assigned Production Technology Domain;
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, technical support, and county agencies to resolve problems; ensure the timely resolution of problems and continue to remain current of industry trends and standards.
  • Serve as an escalation point for first and second level help requests.
  • Create specifications, documentation, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures for an assigned production technology domain.
  • Monitor, maintain, and/or utilize system management applications to identify faults.
  • Resolve trouble tickets on a daily basis
  • Coach less experienced team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • After hours support may be required.
Education and Experience:Any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge and experience with Windows, storage (Dell, Isilon and Compellent), VMWare, Cisco UCS. HyperFlex (HyperFlex Not required) and networking technologies. NICE TO HAVEExperience with Cloud Computing, Exchange, MFA, Azure Work Environment:The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer. Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
  • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
  • The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
