We have a new, contract-to-hire opportunity for a Field Service Technician located in the West Hills, CA area who is able to work Thursday through Monday, 10 am to 7 pm. This is a driving position which requires a DMV background check to be completed.Use of reliable, personal vehicle required - miles reimbursed according to CompuCom policy. Scope of Activity:

  • Provide dispatch field support, including break / fix and printer support
  • Support POS systems or desktop / laptop units
  • Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals
  • Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
  • Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security, and systems groups
  • Trains employees, identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed
  • Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers' needs
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Works under immediate supervision
  • Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment
  • Typically reports to a project leader or manager
Skills and Qualifications:
  • May require an Associate's degree or its equivalent
  • Entry level - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver s license required (driving position - reimbursed accordingly)
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • Must have installation experience, mounting equipment to walls, countertops, etc.
  • Ability to upgrade OS software and transfer data if required
  • Field service experience and printer break / fix repair required
  • Reimaging and updating O / S experience required
  • Proven excellent desktop support experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to follow written instructions independently
  • CompTIA A+ certification preferred
