Description: SmartSource is seeking a Systems Administrator for a Direct Hire opportunity located in San Pedro CA. This is a 100% onsite position. The System Administrator role requires a technical individual proficient in various technologies to support and maintain corporate systems and networks. 1st shift 6:00 AM – 3:00 PMThe System Administrator assists the System Engineer, Network Engineer, and other Information Technology (IT) personnel in maintaining the desktop, server and network infrastructure. Additionally, the System Administrator provides support for desktop applications and systems used by corporate personnel and remote management. The System Administrator reports to the Senior IT Technical Manager. Responsibilities This role is responsible for serving as the primary contact for the IT Help Desk. The System Administrator also maintains the responsibility of monitoring and supporting system operations, as well as resolving end-user issues with corporate equipment.

The scope of the System Administrator includes the following procedures and tasks:
  • Assist in the management of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
  • File and track IT Help Desk tickets, which includes interacting with system and network engineers to reconcile outstanding issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide local and remote support for end-users and follow up to ensure all issues have been resolved.
  • Perform routine system health checks, performing system maintenance, and repairing issues as they occur.
  • Supervise network security, adhering to and establishing company policies and standards as necessary.
  • Support the cellular network and manage company telecommunications.
  • Work closely with the publications team to create support documentation.
  • Other assignments as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or three years’ experience in similar role.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a related area.
  • Current CompTia and/or Microsoft certifications, Cisco a plus.
  • Solid technical understanding of, and experience with, various IT technologies including:
o Windows XP/7/10 desktop operating systemso Windows 2008 R2/2012/2012 R2/2016 server operating systemso Active Directoryo Windows Server Update Serviceso Internet Information Services (IIS)o Microsoft Office 2013/2016/365o Exchange Server 2010/2013/2016o Lync/Skypeo SharePointo Sophos Anti-virus Softwareo Ivanti LANDESKo Apple IOS (iPad and iPhone)o TCP/IP Networkingo HP, Dell, and Lenovo Platformso Help Desk ticketing systemso Cisco VoIP platformso VMware, Linux, Microsoft SQL Server, and storage solutions experience preferred, not required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to support a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and with teams.
  • Driver’s License with clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

  • The System Administrator lifts up to seventy-five (75) pounds when occasionally lifting or carrying large items such as desktop and server hardware, and other equipment.
