Role Summary: Leads an interdisciplinary engineering project-team to define measurements, ergonomics, functional requirements, interior concepts, user friendly handling and infotainment concepts. Aligning concepts with project partners in the region (Gx strategy & model series , sales, quality), and handing over to EB-Wolfsburg to implement the requirement in the early phase-development Role Responsibilities: Vehicle-related Product concept • Leads the early phase team to ensure our NAR-requirements will be implemented in the vehicles to be highly competitive • Synthesize conflicting requirements into concrete product requirements and ensure that they will be correctly addressed to the early phase teams in WOB. • Summarize all relevant requirements into a requirement engineering catalog • Develop methods, tools & processes to optimize team work Project-related committee work • Interact and communicate with involved partners in VWoA and VWdeMexico • Attend regional and international committees like Produktteam and Strategieteam to align conflicts • Collect relevant requirements from other parties like sales , quality, benchmarking analysis etc. • Track the implementation of NAR-requirements to the early milestones in VW AG Leadership , personnel • Support the Team Manager in inspiring and mentoring engineers. Championing their work, guiding them and developing them to the next level. • Support Team Manager in recruiting, hiring and retaining top creative talent.
Qualifications Years of Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience in Product-development whole vehicle and at least 2 years of people management experience managing other Education: Required - Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering Desired - Master's Degree in passenger car engineering, concept development or related field Skills:- People are your first priority. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead without relying on authority/hierarchy. Able to motivate & engage team members, and encourage teamwork in order to drive business performance. Not afraid to have difficult or uncomfortable conversations. Comfortable handling 4-5 direct reports. Solid understanding of people management practices, particularly around professional development and creating opportunities for team members to grow and flourish.
- Excellent creative & strategic thinking and communication skills. Abel to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external business partners on all levels, including executive management

- Proven successes in developing passenger cars and SUV's
- Understanding of US automotive market, individual market requirements, and trends
- Solid process for consolidating & tracking NAR-market key requirements focused in packaging, measurement concepts , ergonomics and interior concepts
- Automotive series development experience with focus on vehicle concept. Strong understanding of automotive development processes & ability to partner with automotive engineering & design teams to ensure high impact
- Familiar with automotive CAD tools & processes.
- Familiar with CAD-data management
- Familiar with Measurement-SAE-specifications
- Familiar with the VW-PEP
- Participate in requirement workshops
- Attend working skype-meetings with international engineering partners (Europe, China , South America)
- Attend international conferences regionally and with other continental time zones
