POSITION SUMMARY: The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Maintain Windows Active Directory domain infrastructure. Strong skills in VMware ESXi virtual server and desktop environment.

Deploys new servers/PCs and configures them as needed for their particular application

Programs, deploys, and maintains switches/routers/APs

Strong skills in SAN/NAS systems, e.g. EMC, FusionIO, PureStorage

Provide consistent server monitoring and stability.

Prepares and maintains documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.

Prepares and maintains documentation of server configurations.

Maintains server/PC patching, malware prevention, and software licensing

Communicates and coordinates network and server schedules, backups, and downtime to the internal business community.

Maintain PCI compliance and overall base line system and network security.

Provide mentoring and other effort to internal and external departmental employees as needs arise.

Other duties may be assigned.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in CS (Computer Science)/CIS (Computer Information Systems), preferred.

Associates Degree in CS (Computer Science)/CIS (Computer Information Systems) and two years’ experience, required.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience (Equivalent = two (2) years of direct related experience to one (1) year of education).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
