Company Information

Chatsworth, California-based multi-chain retail company seeks an Assistant HR Administrator and Payroll Specialist to assist with administrative and payroll processing requirements for its multi-store specialty retail business (dba Patioworld).

Employee will be based out of our Chatsworth corporate headquarters and shall report to the HR Administrator and shall also work closely with the Managing Director of the company, as necessary.

HR Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

An HR Assistant performs a wide range of human resources and payroll functions. Their duties include assisting as necessary with the recruiting, hiring and training for new and existing employees. Individual will report to the HR Administrator but will also work closely with the Managing Director of this retail business.

- Regular communication with store management and employees by phone, email and written communication.

- Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR and payroll departments.

- Maintain employee personnel files for all current and former employee.

- Processing payroll and assisting with the documentation of employee compensation and benefits for both commissioned sales employees and all other non-exempt employees.

- Entering employee data into computer database and maintaining records of available PTO and Sick time for all employees.

- Assist in the Administration of employee benefits, including “Open Enrollment.”

- Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
