Mental Health Clinician I/II

Performs professional level counseling services and psychotherapy functions including managing cases, initiating crisis management, and conducting therapy sessions.

Position serves as the Licensed Mental Health Clinician for Probation and AB109 Program, providing mental health services to Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) clients, and other clients Probation refers needing mental health support in order to successfully complete probation.

Education and/or Experience:

Mental Health Clinician I: Mental Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology or related field; and, one to two years of progressively responsible experience; or, when possessing the required Master's Degree and licensure or certification, a combination of related education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:

Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (or)

Associate Clinical Social Worker (or)

Current registration with Board of Behavioral Sciences (or)

Fully eligible for registration with Board of Behavioral Sciences (or)

An intern in a PhD. or PsyD. Program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or Western Association of Schools and Colleges, which would, upon successful completion, lead to licensure by the California Board of Psychology.

Mental Health Clinician II: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology or related field; or Bachelor's degree when also possessing a Psychiatric Registered Nurse certification, and Two to three years of progressively responsible experience; or, When also possessing required licensure, a combination of related education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (or)

Licensed Psychologist (or)

Psychiatric Registered Nurse
