Eligibility for a salary increase after 1,040 hours (6 months when working full-time) for good work performance; eligibility for a salary increase for good performance every year thereafter, until reaching the top of the salary rangeBecome a Community Development AssociateA Community Development Associate (CDA) at the CDC coordinates, supervises, and performs highly-specialized work related to the implementation and day-to-day administration of affordable housing, community development, homelessness assistance, redevelopment, and/or other Commission programs and projects. Reporting to the Community Development Assistant Manager on the Program Compliance Team, this CDA position is responsible for performing highly specialized work related to Housing and Community Development; including coordinating the day-to-day Administration of Grants, Public Records Requests, Board items, Language Access plan, and Environmental Assessments required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.Duties also include federal reporting and timeline set-up for the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), Annual Action Plans, and Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA). This position may supervise staff and is responsible for independent work as well as working collaboratively with stakeholders (i.e., working with Community Development/Cities and Towns Advisory Committee members, receiving public comment on projects, and acting as the primary contact for Public Records Requests).The ideal candidate for this position will possess project coordination and supervisory skills as well as:Professional experience in affordable housing, community development, homelessness assistance, and/or redevelopment programs
Expertise in identifying, analyzing, developing, and implementing multiple programs and projects
Experience analyzing and summarizing funding or project proposals for consideration by panels, committees, or formal decision-making entities
An in-depth understanding of the purpose and processing of documents related to federal, state, and local level community development programs
Proficiency in applying for and managing federal, state, and local assistance programs and grant funding
Knowledge of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) process
Experience in community outreach and engagement, including facilitation of large public meetings
Strong leadership and management skills
