SUMMARY
This position is responsible for all aspects of inventory control, including purchasing, receiving and cycle counts. The parts manager is the liaison between the dealership and suppliers. Parts manager will also assist retail customers and shop technicians with purchases, and provide parts information from service manuals.
DESCRIPTION
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing parts inventory, including knowledge of location, uses and installation techniques of parts
Assisting retail customers and technicians with questions, parts information and timely ordering of parts
Assisting service manager with delegation of duties for staff, including lot attendants, detailers and technicians
Ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and timely processing of parts orders within the guidelines of company policies, and by checking parts availability
Overseeing inventory control and marketing of parts and accessories; tracking overall profitability of parts department
Maintaining accurate retail and cost pricing on parts in database, assigning bin locations and keeping accurate vendor information records
Analyzing customer requests for parts, providing parts information and prices from service manuals, reference materials and databases, and provide substitute parts information for obsolete or upgraded parts
Establishing good relationship with distributors, dealers, service centers and consumers in order to notify them of parts availability and shipment dates, as well as tracking orders and invoices
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent people skills: friendly, pleasant personality and good listening skills both in person and on the phone
Attention to detail
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Management and/or retail sales experience required
Ability to read and understand service manuals and schematics
Basic computer skills required-advanced preferred
Flexibility in work schedule
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. English reading, writing and basic math skills. Valid driver’s license insurable by Blue Dog RV is required. Candidates must be RVDA Parts Certified, or be willing to obtain certification within two years of continued service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this position must have good general health and physical ability. Parts personnel are required to stand for up to eight hours per shift and must be able to lift at least 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to bend, kneel and reach above shoulder level frequently. Worksite is 90% indoors and 10% outdoors. Outdoor worksite is exposed to various weather conditions.
