These Intensive Services Foster Care parents play a crucial role on a treatment team by providing short-term, intensive support to reach an ultimate goal: To support the healing and successful transition of a child to thriving within a permanent family!

Financial support for relocationSeneca Family of Agencies is a leading innovator in the field of education, community-based and family-focused treatment services for children and families. COMPASS Petaluma is a comprehensive model for children and youth with acute mental health needs, which bridges service systems by weaving together mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice and education services. The COMPASS model builds on a simple truth: Young people are most successful when they are cared for in nurturing homes and family-based environments.

The COMPASS Petaluma program is made up of a community of multiple Intensive Service Foster Care homes which are co-located in a rural setting in Petaluma. Highly trained Resources Families will live on site and operate as our Professional Parents for this program. This community of homes is designed to allow youth to receive a high or low tier of support, allowing the service intensity to malleably adapt to the individualized needs of each youth.

Location:

Petaluma, CAResponsibilities

Provide safe, consistent and structured home environment for one youth at a time

Utilize trauma-informed approaches to support youth in improving communication and emotional management skills

Work with the treatment team to address behavioral and emotional needs of the youth

Engage in COMPASS community activities to foster an environment of collaboration and support

Provide as-needed support to other youth and Professional Parents in the COMPASS neighborhoodQualifications

Experience working with youth with a history of trauma preferred

Parenting or Foster Parenting experience preferred

Experience with or knowledge of Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice systems preferred

Fingerprint and background check clearance

TB test and health screening clearance

Completion of an extensive Family Evaluation

Completion of training series, including CPR/First Aid certificationBenefits:

24/7 on-site support from therapeutic treatment team
