This Registered California state licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for the assessment of referred participants that require rehabilitation services including: direct care to assess medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations and restrictions, and potential for rehabilitation. The PT will establish and administer an Individual Care Plan with specific goals determined according to the participants’ capacity and tolerance under the direction of the Director of Health Services. May oversee some activities of staff Rehabilitation Aides. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt, non-benefited position. Center hours are M-F, 9am-2:30pm and this position is expected to work an average of 12 hours per week during those hours, on-site, typically spread over 3-4 days. Hours will vary based on participant caseload.

Essential Job Functions

Assessment and Person-Centered Care Planning for incoming and active participants.

Member of the Multidisciplinary Team and assist with carrying out team’s plan of care.

Demonstrates safe practices, by utilizing proper body mechanics, adhering to universal precautions, and maintaining environmental safety.

Help participants accomplish treatment plans

Instruct, encourage and assist participants in performing physical activities.

Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments.

Document participant care services.

Contribute to the welcoming environment, assisting participants as needed.

Supervise participants throughout the Center to ensure their safety, proper care, and comfort.

Secondary Job Functions

Attend all staff meetings, trainings and in-services as requested.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.

Current California state license as a Registered Physical Therapist

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Ability to develop a plan of care for each patient. Skilled in providing physical therapy services/interventions. Ability to assess participant needs and to plan, evaluate and modify care to meet the goals of PT interventions.

Physical Demands

Frequent stand/walk, sit, use a computer; use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

Occasionally reach/work above shoulders, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, write by hand, sort/file paperwork.

Ability to safely move upwards of 75 pounds.

Hours and Compensation

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt, non-benefited position. Center hours are M-F, 9am-2:30pm and this position is expected to work an average of 12 hours per week during those hours, on-site, typically spread over 3-4 days. Hours will vary based on participant caseload.

We offer competitive salary and mandatory sick leave plus prorated holiday pay, but this position is otherwise unbenefited.
