Job DetailsUnder the general direction of the Sr. Administrative Director of Information Technology, the Systems Security Manager is to develop and establish monitoring practices to protect information systems from unauthorized access, inappropriate alteration, and are physically secure. The incumbent assesses risk and organizational needs with respect to information system security. This position participates in the decision-making for design and implementation of new technologies. This position performs a variety of duties in the planning and implementation of computer system related activities. The Systems Security Manager is also responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems security policies, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. The incumbent shall routinely monitor and assess the effectiveness of such security practices and policies. Promotes an awareness of these policies to all SVMHS system users. Performs other duties as assigned.Education: Two year degree in electronics; Certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study in increasingly complex systems environment highly desirable. Documented education in the areas of workflow, task and project management.Licensure: Valid California Driver's License required. MCSE preferred.Experience: Management experience in a healthcare organization preferred. Minimum of 2 years of information security experience. Knowledge of business software and networking technologies. Familiarity with commonly accepted security policies and practices and systems security body of knowledge. Demonstrated experience in project management and workflow assignments. Strong management and conflict management skills. Working knowledge of process and delivery of support services in a multi-entity organization. Working knowledge of project management functions.Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Knowledge and ability to work with PC desktop systems and desktop operating systems. Must possess good verbal and written skills. Must possess a high level of problem solving and analytical skills, including business processes and workflow analysis.Interpersonal Skills: Requires the use of tact and good judgment when dealing with hospital department personnel, as well as possess good verbal and written skills. Must be a good communicator with the ability to listen well to others. Must have the ability to positively motivate systems users to desired actions in meeting project goals and timeframes. Must be able to work as part of a team to complete projects and assignments that may require coordinated efforts of several individuals.Essential Physical Requirements: See attached Physical Requirements SheetEssential Mental Abilities: Ability to read, speak, and understand English. Exercise appropriate judgment in stressful situations.Essential Sensory Requirements: Must be able to hear, see, verbally communicate, and have tactile sense.Performance Improvement: Assumes active role in the department's Continuous Performance Improvement Program. Develops, implements and assesses Continuous Performance Improvement efforts as assigned.1. Education: Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in computer sciences or related field. 2. Licensure: CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional. 3. Experience: At least four (4) years' experience in a similar job role for a mid to large organization. Preferably in healthcare. Demonstrated experience in the deployment and management of IT security technologies such as firewall, virtual private networks, intrusion detection solutions, secure access, mobile device management and wireless network security.Interested in hearing more?
