Location: El Segundo, CA Description: Position: Software Engineer 5 Location: El Segundo, CA Clearance: Top Secret Summary: • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system. • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics. • Leads software research and development projects. • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations. • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards. • Trains and mentors others. • Works under consultative direction. Position Responsibilities • Develop, integrate, and test of embedded flight software on a rapid development satellite program • Contribute to the full software life cycle Partner with systems engineering and test to write software that meets program needs • Coding the engineers duties (which will include helping develop the software team to derive software requirements, evaluate software reuse, and define software architecture) • Facilitate translation of detailed requirements and algorithms into flight software by closely working with subject matter experts and the software team • This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance with SSBI or SCI and ability to obtain program clearance pre-start. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.). Required Qualifications: • Experience with a range of computer programming languages; must be fluent in C/C • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems, such as Integrity, Real-Time Linux or vxWorks • TS/SSBI or higher clearance Preferred Qualifications: • Experience (highly desired) with agile development processes and methods • Experience in development, build and test of small and medium-sized spacecraft • Experience in a dynamic rapid prototyping environment • Experience developing middle-ware software • Knowledge of low-level programming with real-time constraints (example APIs include Unity and the Unreal Engine) • Knowledge of computer hardware architectures and the extent to which they influence low-level software Contact: chuff@judge.comThis job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
