RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce's client, a growing and established nationwide Technology Company is seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineer. We are working directly with the Hiring Manager on this exclusive search assignment. This position allows for partial remote. Key Tasks: Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineer will design and develop software for embedded devices Work closely with a team of highly talented software engineers focusing on real-time software development, integration, testing, and validation activities; The team works on many different languages such as C/C and C# Provide support for the entire medical device software life cycle As a Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineer, you will interface with R&D engineers to design/architect and implement our next generation system firmware Implement and modify existing software components Ensure compliance, alignment and consistency with the corporate quality system, software development practices and suitability. Participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, cross functional teams, risk assessments, code review, and unit test inspections Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineers participate in architectural and detailed design reviews Apply best practices and model design patterns towards software development activities Senior Embedded Firmware Development Engineers also work with R&D group to establish necessary test specification and requirements for software product validation of designsREQUIREMENTS: BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Minimum 6-8+ years of experience developing software/firmware using C/C Strong understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, including data structures, threading, operating systems, and memory management Experience developing software for Windows, and microcontrollers Linux is a plus Experience with network and serial communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, Serial Ports, I2C, SPI) Experience with hardware/software interfacing (digital I/O, UARTS) is highly desired Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET application development is preferred Experience in medical device software development is a plus but not required Strong knowledge of embedded systems Must have microcontroller experience Hardware background, understand software and hardware Strong C/C programming experience is required Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented programming Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience using Agile, Jira, Git Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a team Able to work quickly and effectively under pressure and to efficiently deal with multiple priorities simultaneously Knowledge of system integration and system testMedical Device experience is a plus but not requiredKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
