BASIC FUNCTION:

The Door Person creates the Spruce Peak experience by providing efficient door and valet services that meet all the resort’s standards. In addition, provides information to all guests, fellow employees, and visitors in a courteous manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises the Bell, Valet, and Guest service coordinator positions during their shift.

Warmly welcomes all guests and recognizes return guests.

Is responsible for luggage handling upon arrival and departure according to Stowe Mountain Lodge standards and issues claim checks as needed.

Informs guests of the local parking areas and fees; keeps current on space availability.

Assists guests throughout their stay.

Arranges for local ground transportation and instructs taxis about designated waiting area and pick-up and drop-off procedures.

Is responsible for keeping a flow of guests and vehicles on the front drive.

Utilizes luggage storage log for all storage and removal of items from the Bell closet.

Has an advanced level of knowledge of Spruce Peak and our room product.

Has a clear understanding of in-room orientation procedures and AAA standards related to the guest experience on the front drive, rooming process, and valet process.

Maintains the upkeep and appearance of the resort entrance, driveway, and parking facility.

Maintains order and cleanliness of key room and key board.

Transports vehicles to and from designated parking facility and returns to post immediately keeping safety and caution at the forefront of their mind.

Secures keys and releases cars in accordance with standard operating procedures.

Uses guest preferences and information to ensure a high level of guest recognition and personalized service.

Promotes the resort and area services and attractions.

Responds to guest inquiries for information.

Acknowledges guest preferences for future visits, wishes each guest a warm farewell and invites them back.

Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all lodge and resort amenities as well as any special events.

Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and resort policies.

Communicates all pertinent information to department managers and supervisors.

Offers support to Bell Staff, Guest Service Coordinator and Valet when needed.

Upholds all safety standards of Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels and Resorts.

Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Is able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.

Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.

Ensures the Guest Service Coordinator completes the daily checklist.

Ensures the key audit and other closing responsibilities are completed to standard.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Prior hotel or hospitality experience preferred.

Excellent communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Customer service experience.

Strong organizational and time management discipline.

Operate effectively in stressful situations.

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to adapt to changing guest needs.

Must have a valid Vermont Driver’s License with a safe driving record
