KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Attorney on our Criminal Defense team, you must be equally committed to being an active part of this growth and need to succeed. PLG is no place for the passive or complacent; there are plenty of government/boutique firm gigs out there for both types. Our attorneys are expected to hustle in signing up prospective clients, to actively engage in creating content, and to participate in our marketing and branding efforts.

We work as a team, which means you will be asked to cover in court for the other attorneys and partners as needed, while maintaining the same level of professionalism that our clients expect from all our attorneys. You will also be asked to share “on call” duties with other team members on a rotating basis (1 night a week/1 weekend day every 6 weeks). You will also handle a busy caseload of criminal misdemeanors and felonies.

Our experienced team of nine criminal attorneys, including six former prosecutors, have as much if not more combined experience than any criminal defense firm in the Northwest. This means you will have opportunities to learn and be mentored that simply do not exist anywhere else — and you will be expected to seek out those opportunities. True game changers do not wait around for help; they know how to get it. And we’re looking for game-changers.

REQUIREMENTS

Our requirements are pretty straightforward. To qualify you must:

Have an authentic passion for defending the accused. This is not a career stepping-stone, or a place to “get a year or two experience in court before moving on to bigger and better things.” Being a part of this team IS the bigger/better thing.

Possess empathy, resourcefulness, and grit. And a MOTOR.

Know how to “sell” yourself, your fellow attorneys, and PLG to “Prospective New Clients” (“PNCs”), and have no hesitancy doing so.

Have the innate ability to stay loose under pressure and cool under fire. Criminal defense can be messy – especially when you’re the 8th fastest growing law firm in the country – and we get pretty deluged with new clients on a regular basis.

Have a team-centric attitude – must work well with support staff, fellow attorneys, and partners – truly be able to check your ego at the door.

Have NO FEAR of growth, hard work, success, or heights (you may well find yourself 50 feet high on a billboard!)

Be a BADASS.

And although not required, if you have any of these in your arsenal, you’ll only look better:

COMPENSATION

This position is full time and onsite in either our Seattle or Tacoma office (after an initial training period in our Tacoma office to determine best location fit per candidate preference). Salary and bonus/earning opportunities are highly competitive; benefits include paid parking, PTO/Sick Leave, Health Insurance (including Vision/Dental), HSA, and 401k with Corporate Matching.

So - if you’re looking for a 9 to 5 “punch the clock” job, with no pressure, low expectations, lousy coffee, and little if any room for growth, we wish you the best in your search – PLG is not the place for you.
