Network Architect III

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Redwood City, CA that is seeking a Network Architect III for a remote position.Summary:The Emerging Services organization is seeking a Senior Network Architect to design, prototype, configure, evaluate Network Edge NFVplatform. The candidate must possess a strong background in advanced networking protocols (layers 1-3) and will have demonstrated experience configuring, deploying, troubleshooting EVPN VXLAN DataCenter networks. Strong understanding in OpenStack and Linux stack is a must. The Network Architect III's duties will include designing virtual network functions in OpenStack environment, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks.Network Architect III Responsibilities: Designing, documenting, and supporting the introduction of new Virtual Network functions in both production and lab Datacenter NFVI environments Automating Virtual Network function use cases and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations using Python Working collaboratively with both internal and external teams to support the product development life cycle Network Architect III will be protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be madeREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent 10+ years of working in Internet related fields and an advanced understanding of TCP/IP protocols Strong automation experience with Python is required In-depth test experience on networking protocols is required Experience with Test tools like Spirent, Ixia Expertise with routing design, techniques, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS In-depth understanding of public peering, QoS, MPLS, L2VPN, VPLS, VXLAN, traffic engineering and segment-routing Extensive experience with multi-vendor routing and switching platforms Strong automation experience with Python is required Network Architect III will have in-depth test experience on networking protocols is required Experience with network security tools, such as next generation firewalls and IDS/IPS Experience with Linux operating systems, network automation, and open source tooling Ability to develop roadmaps, technology qualification, and design standards Ability to efficiently resolve network issues with varying degrees of complexity Working knowledge of common network monitoring, Packet capturing tools and security utilities A solid understanding of network virtualization (KVM/ESXi) and/or OpenStack landscape along with their supporting technologies Experience in multi-vendor network security topologies A propensity to experiment with emerging technologies Eagerness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge A self-starter able to work independently but also comfortable working within a team Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate with multiple teamsKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
