Works in a senior integration role responsible for the development of database integrations between one or more databases to support data ingestion and movement needs for new client data. Responsible for developing an integration and consumption strategy that ingests source data from multiple sources and types using standard ETL tools. Collaborate with IT and Development organizations to develop an API strategy to move new client data into Paycom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop and maintain a data integration strategy that automates client data collection, storage, transformation and validation to support new client onboarding process
  • Establish and maintain an integration architecture that supports data ingestion from multiple sources and in various formats
  • Work alongside development organizations to improve and enhance data integration capabilities
  • Establish and maintain an API framework to support Paycom client data ingestion needs
  • Facilitate integration related projects with third parties and internal development teams
  • Identify, track, and resolve integration issues
  • Perform the quality assurance and integration testing for projects after development is completed and before projects are deployed
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, conducting root cause analysis to reduce issues.
  • Manage and track communications with Data Conversion Team, project managers, quality assurance, IT Teams, and product managers.
  • Establishes standards and best practices for data integration, tools and processes
  • Provides and updates training documentation.
  • Performs additional duties and assignments as requested

Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related field required

Experience Required:
  • 5+ years in data integration development, testing and implementation
  • 5+ years in the design, development and implementation of ETL, ELT and API type integrations
  • 5+ years developing integrations for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sets

Experience Preferred
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services and/or other integration tools
  • Experience in building and maintaining an integration strategy for complex, multi-source data.
  • Experience connecting to APIs and knowledge of various types of APIs (including but not limited to REST, SOAP, GraphQL)
  • Experience transforming and converting files exported from one system to import into a second system
  • Experience working in and managing an API framework
  • Experience working with multiple, complex data sources

Skills and Abilities:
  • Critical, analytical thinker with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Evaluate integration needs and determine solutions
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages including but not limited to C, C#, PHP, HTML, .NET, and Java a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of database and query design tools such as MYSQL, Oracle, or Toad.
  • Ability to research and make judgment based on gathered facts
  • Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and creative decision-making with regarding to significant matters
  • Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
