Are you passionate about the role of technology in supporting the mission of local government?Loudoun County's Department of Information Technology is currently seeking a Jr. IT Security Analyst in the Information Security Office. The Jr. IT Security Analyst will assist in maintaining the security of County enterprise networks, systems, applications, and other services spanning on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The selected candidate will assist in the installation, administration, and daily monitoring, of security related devices and infrastructure, to include end user incident triage and escalation.Administration responsibilities may include but is not limited to the following technologies: email security, internet filtering, network access control (NAC), endpoint security, multi-factor authentication (MFA), mobile device management (MDM), security information and event management (SIEM), and vulnerability management tools. In addition, the selected candidate will participate in other policy, risk, and compliance functions of the division such as developing documentation, training, awareness, and outreach, and will be expected to interface routinely with customers and partners to investigate, research, and resolve any security related issues or collaborate on technology initiatives.

HIRING RANGE: $66,638.24-$91,627.58 - Salary Commensurate with Experience Requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in computer science/information technology, cybersecurity, network or IT systems administration and one (1) year of experience in information technology security systems, network security or cybersecurity. Equivalent experience may substitute for the degree requirement. Ability to work weekend, evening assignments, and on-call rotation support.A firm understanding of network architecture security, endpoint security, and application security is strongly preferred.- Maintain familiarity with data and system security regulation such as HIPAA and PCI-DSS and other industry information security standards and best practices- The ability to work independently and as part of a team is preferred.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Experience with next generation security products and vulnerability assessment tools is preferred.- Industry certifications such as Security+, CEH are preferred but not required.- Hold or obtain certifications preferred by Department such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation certification (ITIL), Project Management Professional certification (PMP), or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).- Preferred experience in Innotas/Planview software and Leankit tools, other project management software, and sharePoint, Teams, and ServiceNow.- Local government experience preferred.
