The User Support Specialist is responsible for providing computing, technology and telecommunication support for the Norwich community via email, walk-ins and telephone. Salary: $15.50/hour or more, depending on experience.

Full COVID vaccination is required for all on-campus employment.With a focus on customer service, the User Support Specialists are responsible for many technological functions, including:
  • Answering questions directed to the Help Desk accurately, concisely and in a timely fashion in accordance to the ITS Service Level Agreements.
  • Responsible for the installation, deployment, maintenance, support and repair of computer hardware, peripherals, printers, data storage devices and specialty equipment.
  • Responsible for providing basic and advanced networking support for a wide variety of computers, mobile devices and other technologies.
  • Assists in the maintenance of computer related hardware/supply inventory
  • Responsible for providing telecommunication support including minor VoIP management, telecom voicemail configurations, and password resets. Able to provide minor VoIP telecom troubleshooting and enter tier 2 tickets with vendor.
  • Responsible for providing student support which includes assisting under graduate, distant and online graduate students.
  • Responsible for teir1 troubleshooting and support of technology in classrooms including projectors, A/V equipment, cabling and systems.
  • Assisting with Large Scale technology changes and emergency support when needed.
  • Printer configuration, support and management.
  • Providing special event support including guest Wi-Fi assistance, speaker liaison, and Audio Visual Support.
  • Providing customer trainings on all things technology at NU with in current service catalog support.
  • Providing before and after hour support for critical issues.
At Norwich University ITS employees are expected to evolve their skills (personal and technical) to meet the challenges of a 21st century University. Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree required in a related field or comparable experience is preferred
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Advanced Excel or database experience helpful.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Mac OS X and Microsoft Office.
