VACCINATIONSChildren’s Hospital Association (CHA) is committed to the health and safety of our employees, vendors, and those we work with at and in support of our nation’s children’s hospitals. Effective June 23, 2021, CHA will require all new hires, regardless of position or location, to be fully vaccinated. All new hires must have received two Pfizer or Moderna vaccinations or one Johnson & Johnson vaccination, in addition to completion of a two-week period after the final vaccination, prior to the first day of employment at CHA.

JOB SUMMARYAssists with the project management maturity initiative to create a standard methodology using Microsoft Project Professional, and functions as the lead project manager for CHA’s SalesForce CRM platform implementation, as well as future large project implementations interfaced with SalesForce. Accountable for the overall success of a project and using good judgment and critical thinking to course correct where potential roadblocks or scope creep may occur. Uses best practices and recommended tools for planning, budgeting, executing, monitoring, and controlling projects.Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other CHA departments to achieve project objectives in a collaborative and trusted business partner capacity.

Essential duties and responsibilities

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Ensures completeness and clarity of information in project request and works with the requestor to elaborate as needed
  • Coordinates and facilitates project meetings
  • Identifies/communicates project variances and employs collaborative risk management, communication, and negotiating skills to maintain project progress and achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and problem-solving skills by using appropriate information to diagnose problems and identify possible solutions, and document pros and cons of proposed solutions
  • Facilitates requirements gathering and assist with the creation of project requirements and/or user stories
  • Manages the project life cycle and work with cross-functional partners to oversee all phases of project completion
  • Applies appropriate methodology to manage progress, scope, schedule, and budget on all assigned projects
  • Performs resource planning activities to ensure resource needs are aligned with project scope and schedule and with management/project stakeholders priorities
  • Manages relationships with third-party vendors and coordinates vendor activities with internal development and business process stakeholders/dependencies
  • Manages relationships with other CHA stakeholders and coordinates technology activities/ dependencies with business activities/dependencies to ensure effective resource alignment for successful project outcome
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Works with relevant stakeholders to successfully transition development projects to operational support
  • Conducts iterative agile/scrum activities and meetings, including sprint planning, and retrospectives to incorporate lessons learned into future projects and sprint reviews

BEST PRACTICES/OPERATIONAL MATURITY
  • Works with project management team members to advance project management best practices based on sound industry (PMBOK) standards and evolving project management methodologies
  • Recommends methods to mature project management capabilities

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, technology, or related field of study required

Experience and Special Skills:
  • Minimum of 7 years project management experience leading multiple complex projects in the technology industry
  • Minimum of 2 years using Microsoft Project Professional or similar project milestone, resource management, and task tracking tools
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience leading SalesForce implementations or other large ERP-type systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI and DevOps preferred
  • Strong cross-teams and vendor facilitation skills
  • Technical project management experience
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving agility, able to negotiate compromises through relationships and focus on objectives
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Experience working with third-party vendors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Licenses / Certifications
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification highly preferred (or demonstrated progress toward certification required)
  • Lean certification/experience a plus
  • Scrum certification/experience a plus
