The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Los Angeles branch, has an excellent opportunity for a Cash Supervisor. This role seeks an individual ready to provide people and operational leadership in distribution of US currency and coin to financial institutions (FI) on behalf of the Federal Reserve Bank in the southern California and Nevada regions while servicing FIs in Asia and Mexico. Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, assign, and direct distribution and processing activities by optimizing staff resources, inventory levels, and machine utilization strategies in order to meet customer deadlines while achieving internal performance metrics (quality, cost, efficiency and effectiveness).
  • Provide input on the establishment of short and long-term goals for the team. Proactively monitor team performance to assess progress against goals.
  • Create, communicate, and maintain quality control policies and work procedures to enable adherence to risk management requirements. Complete risk assessments to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop high performing team members for career progression. Conduct staff training on system equipment, hardware and software upgrades, compliance requirements, and existing/new standard department procedures.
  • Identify and implement solutions that optimizes daily production opportunities, addresses risk management weaknesses, maximizes staff resources, and enhances employee-focused initiatives that drive engagement and growth.
  • Work with customers and vendors within the cash supply chain to ensure adherence to service levels and contractual obligations.
  • Research, clarify, and resolve routine to complex operational problems across multiple work processes that include but is not limited to machine issues, inventory management, customer transactions, accounting and settlement activity.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate with other management staff in establishing a daily coverage schedule.
  • Execute on business resumption plans to ensure cash distribution continuity during periods of crisis (i.e natural disasters, political unrest, or other events)
  • Carryout organizational practices for staffing, EEO, diversity & inclusion, employee relations, wage and hour, retention, safety, etc.
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and emerging issues. Work with team to implement.
Desired Experience:
  • Typically requires 3+ years of relevant Cash or business work experience. 1+ years of experience in leading teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop team members in meeting goals and objectives
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong teamwork and customer service orientation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Use critical thinking to assess situations, make appropriate decisions in a timely manner, and communicate those decisions to impacted stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate active listening skills with the ability to problem solve and provide feedback in a variety of situations.
  • Possess strong analytical skills with experience in using data to assess emerging trends and arrive at solutions
  • Possess risk management or procedural compliance experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships, and influence individuals at varying all levels internally and externally.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of new procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to change and adapt in response to situations as they develop, be comfortable changing course, and making recommendations in the absence of information or existing policies to guide them.
  • Experience supervising teams in production, manufacturing, or supply chain distribution environments.
