Senior Web Developer Requisition Number: S00823P: Application Development Position Category: Staff Campus Location: Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours Per Week: 40 Months Per Year: 12 Pay Grade: E33 FLSA: Exempt Job Summary/Basic Function: Responsibilities include hands on development, integration, support and operational management of web applications for the WSU web site, web content management system, and portal. Develop activities are “mobile-first” and continually evaluate accessibility and security. Demonstrated ability to integrate web, portal, and mobile applications with university administrative systems, including single sign on integration. Perform quality control, usability, and load testing to ensure high performance enterprise web applications. Ability to participate and occasionally lead software development projects in addition to independent project and maintenance work. Coordination of department change management and healthy operation of production environment. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field or equivalent relevant work experience (8 years) in related field5 years software engineering/programming experience in a web environmentAdvanced knowledge of application development standards and best practices including coding, security, and performanceDemonstrated experience of web design concepts and best practices including mobile-friendly, accessibility standards, and semantic markupDemonstrated experience working with clients to understand detailed processes and requirementsDemonstrated experience designing and maintaining complex databases and creating stored proceduresDemonstrated experience in administration of production web serversDemonstrated experience managing or leading projects to completionAdvanced knowledge of the SDLCExperience troubleshooting and fixing programming and administration problems quicklyAdvanced to expert understanding of: Client systems, languages, and environments Server systems, languages, and environments Database systems, languages, and environments / Specific technologies may include: ASP.Net, Visual Studio, VB.Net, C#, Web Services, AJAX, AWS, Windows Server, IIS, HTML, CSS, Javascript, JQuery, SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.Hands on experience with developing, managing and maintaining enterprise level portal systems and web content management systems.
