Lead JAVA Architect

Title: Java Architect Duration: 1+ year Contract Location: Jersey City, NJ Job Description:

• Senior Tech lead or Middleware Architect
• The position is within BCMA Technology, which is focused on automating and modernizing operations while implementing and leveraging cross product shared services opportunities.
• The role is for a senior application development architect and Senior tech lead, responsible for the execution and delivery of various modules of the BCMA deal management platform, working closely with the BCMA technology leadership in NY area and senior site leadership in Mississauga.
• The candidate must have strong experience in driving enterprise level architecture and design decisions and executing delivery of large-scale applications using Java or J2EE and Spring.

• Drive the design and development of system architecture, work closely with other architects, and enhance the quality of deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership, collaborate on technical solutions and strategies with the team and provide the optimum solution for clients.
• Work closely with other application managers and virtual teams to successfully deliver towards a common strategic platform for BCMA
• Ensure change is managed with appropriate controls, documentation, and approvals including implementation of new and revised regulatory reporting requirements
• Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and collaboration across teams.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding client, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
• Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed including developing detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
• Influences and negotiates with senior leaders across functions and geographies.
• Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve technology objectives.
• Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.

• More than 15 years of combined industry experience
• Strong technical and managerial leadership experience in application development and driving execution in challenging environments
• Must have prior experience as an architect, defining enterprise level application architecture and design
• Must have 10 plus years of Java, JEE, Spring Tech Stack, with project architecture implementation expertise
• Must have expert level (hands-on) knowledge and understanding in JAVA or J2EE SpringBoot or Microservices and event based architecture or REST API
• Must have experience with messaging services and tools like Kafka
• Service oriented architecture, and data standards like JSON, Avro, Parquet
• Agile or Scrum methodology experience is required.
• Strong systems analysis, design and architecture fundamentals, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
• Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with business leadership and other stakeholders
• Experience managing global technology teams and working with multiple senior stakeholders
• Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

• Bachelor's or University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master's degree
