A Business Relationship Manager at Globe Life has responsibility to understand the intersection of

Business Need,

IT Enablement, and

Cost of Delivery as well as an understanding of

IT

Products/

Service Delivery Mechanics.

Business Need The understanding of Business Value Chains, Business to Business Relationships and the ability to communicate IT value in business impacting terminology.

IT enablement The understanding of the technology components of Product/Service delivery and the underpinning delivery mechanics

Cost of Delivery . The understanding of the cost of the acquisition and/or development, the integration, the delivery, and the ongoing support of the Products/Services based on the underlying IT Architectural components and the teams that own these components

IT Product/Service Delivery Mechanics The understanding of the acquisition and/or development, the provisioning and the support of IT enablement in terms of the delivery channels and support processes Business Relationship Manager (BRM) professionals .
  • Work as the strategic AND tactical interface between Business and IT within the assigned areas of the organization
  • Establish and nurture relationships in both Business-to-Business and Business-to-IT
  • Provide a framework for issue resolution
  • Provide centralized reports to portfolios and their progression and performance
  • Create and communicate capability roadmaps, visually aligning business need to product/service delivery and maturation
  • Support planning and scheduling for IT service delivery
  • Establish and maintain regular cadence with business partners to discuss both strategic and tactical items
  • Establish and maintain a regular cadence with the IT Financial Management Office regarding cost and consumption of Products/Services
  • Assist business partners in their understanding of Enterprise-wide initiatives and needs
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with stakeholders and end users to effectively determine technology needs
  • Learn, understand, and articulate business processes and culture as well as the capabilities of IT to support business processes
  • Have detailed understanding of IT Product/Service delivery within the assigned portfolio from ideation to retirement to ensure that the service is operating and optimal business value and in alignment with business goals.
  • Establish and communicate consolidated portfolio reporting metrics and dashboards that provide senior management and team members with quantifiable information of the delivery of business results.
  • Drive and help manage organizational change management to support IT initiatives.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to facilitate large meetings with matrixed team and senior level leaders to drive to a defined desired outcome
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships relevant to business stakeholder engagement needs
  • Ability to listen actively, document and be organized
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to apply governance rules and apply to business need, the technology enablement delivery
  • A solid understanding of IT processes and delivery mechanics
  • A base level understanding of cost allocation/financial analytics
  • Ability to process information, ask questions to achieve a consensus understanding, vision, and/or desired business outcome in a large meeting down to a one on one interaction
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people

Required Experience:
  • Bachelor Degree - Preferably in a Business related discipline
  • Five to 10 years professional experience managing business relationships and organizational change management
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
  • Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities
  • Understanding the Life and Health Insurance industry a plus
