Job Description A series B SF startup is looking for an outstanding and creative Senior Product Designer to join their team and help achieve their goal to modernize pet health care. The team's mission is to use modern technology to empower pet owners by providing digital features and automating pet healthcare so that our pets receive better quality and timely care. The ideal candidate is empathy-driven (especially towards pets and pet owners) and enterprising because you will be leading a super greenfield application to the next level. This role will be responsible for leading UX/UI design efforts across the core suite of Web and Native Mobile Applications. The role is remote, but the headquarter is based out of San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to make immediate impacts within the role and make it a better world for our pets! What you'll do:
- Empathy is at your core. You take an empathy-driven approach to your design
- Deeply understand our customers. You will partner with our CX team to become an expert on the challenges our customers face
- Create a product design process & help build a design-centric company
- Facilitate collaboration within the product design team and communicate effectively with other teams
- Create user experiences from soup to nuts - from concepts through wireframing and visual design to implementation, you'll mockup solutions, test with users, iterate and iterate again until the user experience is right.
- Work with the product & leadership team to help craft the company's product and design road map - we want to build products that delight members?
- Work closely with the engineering team to bring the team's designs to life (web & mobile)
- Develop ideas into delightful products that demonstrate your understanding of user problems and product vision
- Balance the business goals and user needs in designing creative solutions?
- 5+ years of working as part of a design team
- Experience managing designers or working as a lead product designer with a team of product designers.
- Experience building design processes and hiring amazing designers
- A portfolio of native and web projects that shows your design process, final designs, and impact
- A strong design thinker with a passion for user-centric design, and the ability to get things done
- Have loads of user empathy to solve problems while also balancing business goals in the product - you're as interested in the "why" as the "how"
- Detail oriented and passionate about making it perfect but not losing the forest in the trees - ability to prototype, collect feedback & iterate
- Hypothesis-driven design framework - comfortable presenting ideas & collecting feedback from various stakeholders (product / engineering / leadership)
- Expertise in visual design tools, e.g., Sketch, Zeplin, Figma, Invision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and working with ambiguity
- Must love pets!
