Job Summary • Manage and monitor installed systems and infrastructure and test for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems • Provide second and third level support • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution and provides technical direction to IT support staff • Plans and implements system automation as required • Oversee the development of customized software and hardware requirements• 6-8 years' related experience • Experience in the banking or finance industries preferred • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Apache, Ruby, NGINX) • Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, CFengine, Chef) • Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python) • Solid networking knowledge (Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) network layers, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)) • Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Unix /Linux based environments • Cloud experience, preferably in Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box) • Experience with monitoring systemsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
