The Aladdin Product Group develops and supports every facet of BlackRock's information system needs. Our global teams perform a wide variety of activities from maintaining system stability to growing the features and functionality of our state-of the-art trading and asset management platform, Aladdin.APG -QA is a globally distributed team supporting Quality Engineering initiatives for applications on the Aladdin platform. The Testing team employs use of industry-leading tools (HP Application Lifecycle Management, Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, Azure dev ops) to support the testing activities.Job Purpose/Background:The QA Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance for a Trading application on the Aladdin platform. You will be expected to perform a variety of complex project tasks, which will require a high proficiency in functional testing and test automation. You will work on becoming an SME in the business domain and building your technical skills to enable you to provide guidance and direction in making critical technical and project related decisions. You will have the chance to engage with multiple teams and partners across the Aladdin Product Group.Key Responsibilities:
  • In collaboration with the QA lead, provide testing services for the global testing team. This includes static/dynamic testing and automation implementation to ensure deliveries are timely and of high quality.
  • Collaborate with others to develop effective test strategies and test plans based on product design and architecture.
  • The role is hands on and will be responsible for becoming a domain specialist in all areas of system functionality.
  • Develop, maintain and execute automated scripts. The ability to code using Selenium/Java are a must. Cucumber and Azure DevOps are a plus.
  • Interface and collaborate closely with the global Test, Business and Development teams, effectively communicating testing metrics, progress, schedules and issues impacting delivery.
  • Able to manage environments and data required for testing.
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience working in Software Quality Assurance for a financial services firm
Functional:
  • Experience in quality assurance for a complex suite of applications.
  • A basic understanding of financial market trading terms and concepts. Experience testing a Trading system is a plus.
  • Understanding requirements and developing effective test scenarios.
  • Able to multitask and assist with the coordination of various projects for a distributed team.
Technical:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing with Selenium or Core Java and a solid understand of automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience working in an agile development process.
  • Experience working with SQL (MySQL, AquaDataStudio) and operating systems including Unix/Linux.
  • Familiarity with Micro-Service architecture and Cloud concepts.
  • Experience with Git, AZURE DevOps, CI/CD integration, Cucumber/BDD and Performance Testing are a plus.
  • Exposure to scripting languages like Jscript, Python would be an added advantage.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and come up with solutions to meet project needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work and deliver results independently, self-starter
Education: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
