The

Head of Product develops and drives the product vision and strategy. Acting as the voice of the customer, they work closely with the development team to define, execute and optimize the product roadmap. The HoP’s primary responsibility is to maximise the customer & business value created by the development team and to do this they will build a deep understanding of customer needs and the competitive environment. They will build close relationships with key stakeholders and connect the wider business strategy to the product development roadmap.As part of the leadership team, they will contribute to the overall strategic, cultural & operational growth of this exciting new division.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts as the voice of the customer, working closely with the development team to define, execute and optimize a roadmap of improvements to the customer-facing platforms and internal tech systems.
  • Attract and lead a team of [5-10] product & design specialists, providing mentoring and support to what is a key team within the business.
  • Lead the team to build a deep understanding of customer needs & the competitive market. Combine this knowledge with qualitative and quantitative observations on the performance of the current product, in order to drive growth in transactions, customer satisfaction & operational effectiveness.
  • Know the customers better than anyone – work with the team to acquire deep customer & market insights and use these to shape our products.
  • Work closely with internal teams to define and iterate on an ambitious product vision/strategy, and communicate ‘the story’ effectively inside and outside the team.
  • Together with the Product Owners, own the roadmap for the customer facing web applications & internal tooling, working to refine the user stories and ensure all items are clearly described, estimated and prioritized
  • Lead the team in applying user-centred design and design thinking frameworks, combining qualitative & quantitative data to optimize the user experience across the whole customer journey.
  • Attract, lead and motivate a team of 5-10 Product Owners, Data Analysts and UX designers
  • Lead our product culture and spearhead improvements as the Product team grows, creating a consistent methodology for iterative product development, to be used across research, design, development, and delivery
  • Develop strong partnerships with Engineering, Marketing & Operations to create a well-rounded product offering.
  • Build a culture of data-driven decision making, owning and reporting-on a dashboard of product performance metrics.

Key Skills:
  • Deep knowledge and proven track record in delivering successful products (commercial and customer KPIs)
  • Solid knowledge of trends and user demands in D2C food industry to be able to create a high value product vision
  • Comfortable with technology/IT: You are able to engage in technical discussions, understand technical risk and work with the Head of Technology on subjects such as QA testing and the stability of the code-base
  • [8-10] years experience working in product development, with experience of managing other Product Owners and Designers
  • Experience of digital B2C is a must-have, experience of consumer food and order management a strong plus
  • [2-3] years experience working in start-up / scale-up

Agile & Digital Experience
  • Experience in Agile Development, with specific Product Owner (or similar) experience, should be confident in building and managing the Backlog of work
  • Experience of working directly with technology teams

  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex messages and trade-offs persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Always persuadable by evidence: You are always open to changing your mind when the evidence dictates. Conversely, you use well-structured data to inform your own opinions and persuade others.
  • [2-4] years of experience leading product owners, designers & analysts
  • Strong experience in leveraging qualitative & quantitative data to make customer & business centric decisions

Key Criteria:
  • 8-10 years of product experience
  • 2-4 years of experience leading product owners, designers & analysts
