We are currently seeking an Events & Ticketing Coordinator to help manage back-end operations of events with Peak 2 Peak Alaska, a subsidiary of the Anchorage Daily News, and to manage our ticketing platform MyAlaskaTix. This position entails event planning, sales, customer service, marketing and promotions.

A successful candidate will be extremely organized and be able to manage the logistics of multiple events simultaneously. This position requires a highly detailed, process-oriented individual who thrives in a multi-faceted team environment. The ideal candidate will be approachable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable of ADN’s products, services and events and possess the ability to develop and maintain event marketing strategies that meet agreed company objectives. This position works with and builds relationships with local businesses, individuals, communities, vendors, organizations and the general public.

Event Coordination:

Assist with administrative tasks & coordination for events (exhibitor registration, fulfilment, collect nomination information, reporting, etc.)

Assist in booth sales for all of Peak 2 Peaks events (includes making phone calls).

Assist in set-up, take-down and all areas of event coordination (includes working some evenings and weekends).

Communication with clients, listening to their needs and presenting ideas and solutions when/if necessary

Issuing invoices, collecting payments in a timely manner, and creating comprehensive and readable financial reports.

Ability to take meeting notes and disseminate to the team.

MyAlaskaTix Coordinator:

Sales:

Creating and maintaining prospect lists for potential clients.

Developing new client relationships and developing existing client relationships

Train Sales Reps as needed if they have a specific client, they would like to pitch the ticketing portal to.

Presenting our ticketing platform to local event organizations -scheduling demonstrations, following-up on leads ADN working to secure contracts for local event organizers.

Point Person:

Managing support for organization users as well as ticket buyers.

Provide initial on-site training sessions for each signed organization.

Provide customer service and troubleshooting for each signed organization.

Ticket Lead:

Responsible for the success of the ticketing division.

Ensure the processes involved in ticketing are executed upon efficiently.

Managing, creating and implementing media content integration.

Marketing:

Implement marketing efforts for upcoming client events with house ads, newsletters, social media, etc.

Manage, create and implement marketing efforts to promote the brand to the community with house ads, newsletters, social media, calendars, etc.

Events Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications

Sales experience preferred, to include cold calling

Previous event planning experience preferred

Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners

Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality management, marketing or related areas preferred

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work in Google products including Google Mail, Drive, Docs and Sheets, and master multiple software programs

Creativity, organization, and ability to multitask

Ability to work independently

Ability to work under strict deadlines
