Facilities Maintenance position in Clifton, NJ!Direct Hire
Salary is DOE, up to $92k
JOB SUMMARY:The position’ s main responsibility is to ensure that the Clifton facility is properly maintained with minimum equipment down time.
- Repairs steam and water leaks in threaded, welded, and soldered steel, copper, and plastic piping.
- Repairs other mechanical issues that include valves, flanges, fittings, hoses, pumps, scales, piping, vacuum systems, and heat exchangers.
- Performs weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance.
- Helps to maintain and operate high pressure steam boilers.
- Performs minor electrical repairs.
- Has a good understanding of the operation of centrifugal, diaphragm, and gear pumps. Can replace mechanical seals when required.
- Can perform minor repairs to LP forklifts, doors, windows, and other facility infrastructure.
- Can perform entry into production vessels for maintenance work under a confined space permit.
- Conducts and documents daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of plant and safety equipment.
- Maintains equipment files and work orders.
- Monitors and places requisitions for plant related equipment that includes valves, fittings, hoses, pump parts, etc.
- Organizes and supervises contractors on larger maintenance projects and capital projects.
- Conducts annual ultrasonic thickness testing of production reactors.
- Able to enter purchase requisitions and receipts into the SAP computer system.
- Assists the Plant Manager with capital planning and other maintenance related work and projects.
- Five years minimum experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repair work.
- Must be able to perform basic mechanical work, conventional welding, pipe fitting, soldering, and minor electrical repairs.
- must be able to coordinate and supervise contractors for larger maintenance work and small capital projects.
- A high school diploma is a must.
- Computer skills are helpful.
- A black seal boiler operator license is required as a minimum. Training for the boiler operator license will be provided if necessary.
- Familiar with safe work practices that include hot work, confined space, lock-out/tag-out, and line breaking.
- Familiar with LEL, oxygen, and carbon monoxide monitoring.
- Familiar with the use of personal protective equipment that includes an air purifying respirator, welding equipment, face shield, gloves, safety glasses and goggles, and a hard hat.
- Familiar with the handling of corrosive, flammable, and combustible chemicals.
- Familiar with vacuum pumps, heat exchangers, pressure regulators, relief valves, rupture disks, filters, scales, and cooling towers.
