Job Title: Internal Communications Specialist

Location(s): Morgantown, WV or Grand Junction, CO or Westminster, CO

Hiring Range: $35/k - $50/k/yr. (Depending on education and experience)

Job Description:

RSI EnTech (LLC) is hiring an internal communications specialist in Morgantown, WV., or Grand Junction, CO, to support the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management's (LM) post-closure responsibilities and ensure the future protection of human health and the environment. This communications professional will provide support for LM's federal and contractor workforce, as well as a variety of other internal communications and employee engagement projects and activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing strategic communications expertise and support that advance programs and goals
  • Developing, creating, and distributing weekly internal communication messages for LM's federal and contractor workforce
  • Serving as the primary internal communications professional responsible for providing project plan and campaign support
  • Supporting the creation, approval process, and distribution of Employee News monthly safety meeting presentations for LM's federal and contractor workforce
  • Providing and executing communications recommendations for the Environmental Management System (EMS) program, including serving as the Education, Communications, History, and Outreach point of the contact on the EMS project team.
  • Support the creation of employee engagement content
  • Providing support for employee engagement campaigns, programs, and activities, including VPP, town hall meetings, take your kids to work day, seasonal specific campaigns (e.g., Movember), etc.
  • Creating and implementing internal communications plans, activities, and programs
  • Supporting the creation, review, approval, and distribution of information to LM's contractor workforce
Basic Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and creative writing skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage internal client expectations across multiple, competing projects/priorities with quick turn-around times
  • Can-do attitude and collaborative work style; flexibility and adaptability
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Skilled implementer with strong writing and editing skills highly
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital internal communications and employee engagement best practices; intranet, content management systems, SharePoint, and/or digital workplace experience a plus
  • Proficient in all MS Office programs, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Skilled implementer with demonstrated experience creating content for print and digital platforms
  • Email management systems and analytics reporting
  • Executive communications
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and html
  • Demonstrated ability to quantify communications results and outcomes
  • Proven ability to communicate to all levels within the organization
  • Experience communicating technical and/or scientific information to non-technical and or non-scientific audiences
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Department of Energy
  • Familiarity working as a contractor for the U.S. government
  • Knowledge and experience in federal government agency protocols
  • Familiarity with radioactive and chemical waste, environmental contamination, hazardous material and the associated long-term surveillance and maintenance, records management, work force restructuring and benefits continuity, property management, land use planning, and community assistance
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Journalism, English, Mass Communications or Media Science -related field of study preferred or the equivalent of;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Communications, preferably with a focus on Internal communications
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
