The CARPENTER is responsible to provide carpentry services as needed to maintain, repair and to ensure optimal quality and condition of paint and other finishes on all resort structures and furnishings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:

- To satisfactorily perform routine carpentry services as directed, including designing, building and installing cabinets; hanging doors; building and hanging picture frames; installing and finishing drywall; installing plastic laminates; constructing new structures; and repairing or rebuilding interior furnishings.

- Responsible for responding to, opening and/or closing projects in the HotSOS program.

- To satisfactorily perform, as directed, routine painting and finishing tasks, includingpreparation, taping, product selection, and application.

- To assist the Director of Engineering and Supervisor with departmental tasks as needed.

- To perform minor repairs of stucco and plaster finishes, both interior and exterior, asdirected.

- To repair interior drywall, as needed.

- To communicate all guest requests to an appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner.

- To follow all policies and procedures of JC Resorts LLC.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: Able to read, speak, and write English, and to follow simple verbal directions. Able to read and interpret blue prints, drawings, and diagrams of the trade. Must have a minimum of three year’s experience as a carpenter and two years of previous experience as a painter. Additional experience with tile helpful. Must be familiar with all types of coatings and finishes. Hands-on working knowledge of pneumatic and airless spray equipment. Must be able to distinguish colors, including pastels. Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Valid California driver's license required. Proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required. Hotel experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks approximately 85% of shift. Sits/drives approximately15% of shift. Must be able to work at extreme heights. Strength, flexibility, and good reflexesneeded to operate staging and mechanized material moving devices. Frequent daily use of stairs. Routinely required to handle and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. over moderate distances.
