Position: Packaging Assistant
Reports to: Principal brewery manager, warehouse manager, brewmaster
Pay rate: $XX/hour, based on level of experience
Frequency: Full time
Job Description:
Maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice. Tasks include but are not limited to all aspects of raw materials handling, keg washing, maintaining and operating keg washing & related equipment, keg & packaging material handling, packaging of finished beer, finished beer monitoring, equipment CIP, and general sanitation. Additional responsibilities include warehouse organization and occasional deliveries in company cargo van.
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Execute all cleaning, sanitation, and preparatory tasks for tanks to receive finished beer
Wash kegs on semi-automated keg washing machine
Maintain keg washing equipment
Assist on canning line, including pack-off of filled cans
Monitor and report fill levels on all beers
Rack beer into kegs and casks as directed by principal brewery manager
Assist in warehouse as needed under direction of the warehouse manager
Ensure that all beer is produced to standards and specification by following recipes and procedures as set by brewmaster & principal brewery manager
Follow best practice and safety requirements dutifully
Attend brewery staff meetings as required
Possess a well-rounded knowledge of brewing and beer styles beer knowledge
Willingness to participate in festivals and promotional events as needed while representing the company and the brand in a professional manner
Perform all job functions within the structure described in the employee handbook of policies and procedures at Beachwood Brewing
Job Requirements:
High school diploma - Formal brewing education is a bonus
Ability to work and communicate well with all staff
Organized and detail oriented; accurate record keeping skills
Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting
Valid driver’s license
Ability to safely operate a forklift & obtain certification
Flexible schedule – available early morning & weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
Lift 55 lbs from ground to shoulder high
Lift 110 lbs from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs. along the floor
Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders
Work in small and confined spaces
Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations
Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodations
Read, write, and calculate basic algebra
