"Modern Friends" Improv Video Series (Paid, Downtown San Diego Only)

Seeking talent for a semi-improvisational series called "Modern Friends."

Modern Friends is about two friends who are working in the creator economy and living in downtown San Diego. This is a small production that is starting as a web series to be published on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.

Health and Safety Policy: Disclosure of vaccination status is required, outdoor shoots only.

Compensation and requirements:

Pays $32 per hour, starting with two shoots per month (every other Saturday), three hours for each shoot. Not including your transportation time to location, you would need to be available for 3 hours of shooting (in mid-morning or sunset, depending on the episode). Must be able to meet in downtown San Diego/Balboa park area, and open to the possibility of a weekly schedule. Must be ready for a long-term role, starting with 3 test shoots (paid), then a six-month agreement. Scripted lines will be rare and there will be minimal advance preparation. During the shoots, you will work with prompts and fictionalized situations for your character to respond to in realtime.

Note from director:

This production is for actors ready for fast-paced improvisational shoots in public places with very minimal pre-production. That means meeting at scenic locations around Balboa Park and downtown San Diego without scripts, ready to play a fictionalized version of your natural personality on camera. The web series will be free to watch on YouTube and since we are not planning any "post-shoot sales" for the first season, we are not required to get permits meant for bigger commercial productions. This means we will have a very small production footprint, I will be handling cinematography/sound while providing prompts and storylines that you will react to in realtime.
