Job Description

As the Apprentice Meter Technician you will participate in the HEATS Meter Technician Program. This four-year program will enable you to work with high-technology metering equipment and to represent the cooperative in the field. The training will include both classroom instruction and on the job training. The Apprentice Meter Technician reports to the Director of Engineering.Responsibilities include:

  • Testing, servicing, maintaining, and calibrating electronic meters, instruments, transformers, metering equipment, and programmable distribution equipment.
  • Assists members in understanding their energy usage.
  • Installs and repairs instrument metering equipment on de-energized lines.

  • Indiana Class A Commercial Driver License is desirable.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
