Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Supply Management team as a Supply Management Specialist – New Product in Clarion, IA. This position provides entry level sourcing and support for Product Delivery Process (PDP - LT) and Current Production to include development and execution/enforcement of strategies and contracts for new product programs and current production. Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution and other data analyses. Works with Strategic Supply Management Specialist to ensure strategy alignment during the early supplier selection process as part of Product Delivery Process (PDP - LT). Manages all supplier performance and addresses chronic performance issues for the assigned commodity (mainly metal fabrication, wheel & tire). This position will report to the Supply Management Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures accuracy of part set-up prior to transitioning parts to production, including parameters such as containers, packaging, minimum order quantities, pricing, and arranges agreements with the supplier on appropriate logistic processes.
  • Supports PDP-LT with cost reduction activities, analyzing quotes, and making initial supplier selection based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time, and supplier stability.
  • Drives continuous improvement in terms of performance with the supply base, including cost, quality and delivery metrics.
  • Supports the ECR/ECN process so design changes on new products and product improvements (PI) are implemented in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintains ongoing relationship with preferred suppliers and reviews supplier performance as it pertains to new product builds and current production. Ensures strategy alignment with Supply Management Specialist – Current Product.
  • Reviews and resolves Halt Codes to ensure prompt and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Schedules and expedites the delivery of purchased materials to support new product builds and current production, including PO releases, acknowledgements, exceptions, and shortages.
  • Coordinates and executes inventory plans using systems parameters and material replenishment strategies to achieve inventory/cost management and material flow goals.
  • Ensures all new parts have quality plan associated and followed to support quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Order Fulfillment Process. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Skill in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge of unit processes and operations. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Experience in specific areas of Supply Management such as: supplier integration, strategic supply management, supplier development, module supply management, scheduling, forecasting, logistics, etc. May be position specific. - 1 - 3 years
  • Project management experience. - Less Complex Project, consists of some or all of the following criteria: 5 or less persons on the project team; 1 or 2 disciplines involved; 1 or 2 facilities involved; scope in dollars is less than $500,000 and is determined on budget, revenues generated, savings, etc.
  • Work experience in a team environment. - 1 - 3 years

Education:

  • Degree in a Supply Management, Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
