For more information visit https://www.dignityhealth.org/north-state/locations/stelizabethhospital .ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:Operates Ultrasound equipment with the ultimate goal of obtaining quality images of designated portions of the body. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed sound waves. This position will be responsible to take call for ultrasound.Principle Duties and Accountabilities:Maintains established policies, procedures, and objectives.

Understands and participates in FOCUS-PDCA.

Prepares written documentation as equried by the profession and department.

Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area.

Obtains patient history, answers questions, and explains procedures.

Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, type of test ordered, and ensures quality images.

Maintains files on patients and other pertinent information according to established procedure.

Makes idle time productive and returns to darkroom, work area to help co-workers.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performs CT exams, including but not limited to head, abdomen, pelvis, QCT, chest, extremity, and assists physiscian in special procedures.

Transports patient to CT area, prepares and maintains room for daily activities.

Performs Arteriography procedures and techniques, including but not limited to cerebral, carotid, aorta, extremity, sterile technique, and physician assisting.

Performs all ultrasound exams including but not limited to abdominal, retroperitoneal, OB, extremity, vascular, echocardiography, and assists physician in special procedures.

Transports patient to ultrasound room, prepares and maintains room for daily activities.

QualificationsPreferred Qualifications:Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:Ultrasound experience

Completion of ultrasound program at an approved school
