Management responsibilities include: staff development and education, inventory control, continuous quality improvement, assisting with performance evaluations, and communications with other healthcare professionals and departments. Assuming co-coordinator role of COPD camp, being a trained tobacco cessation educator, performing the role of Respiratory Protection Validator in the department. Working with other leaders to provide radically convenient quality patient care.Hours:0700-1730 four days/week (Mon- Friday). no weekend or holidays.What We Are Looking ForEducation:Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological science required.Graduate of a respiratory therapy program required.Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in the state of Iowa required.CAPRS and N95 fit testing validation within 30 days of hire required.ExperienceMust demonstrate competence in Respiratory Care for 3 years with a minimum of 2 years of blood gas experience.Special Skills, Competencies, and AptitudesMust have excellent customer service skills, the ability to model and teach customer service to others.Must have the ability to make sound, independent decisions.Must have the skill to prioritize assignments, delegate duties as appropriate, and manage personnel.Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel and patients.Must have the ability to effectively listen and convey awareness.Must be able to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.Must be able to read, write and/or speak EnglishMust provide proof of Basic Life Support ( BLS Provider -American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status.Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association and maintain current status.Completes Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association and maintain current status.Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association by and maintain current status.All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physical, drug screen and post offer exam.EEO Employer F/M/Veteran/DisabledIn compliance with the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA), VEVRAA, and Section 503, should you have a disability and would like to request an accommodation in order to apply for a currently open position with MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, please call Human Resources at (641) 428-7287 or email us at mc01hrrecruitment@mercyhealth.comTrinity Health's Commitment to Diversity and InclusionTrinity Health employs about 133,000 colleagues at dozens of hospitals and hundreds of health centers in 22 states.
