PCB Designer

Volt is seeking a PCB Designer in San Diego, CAThe successful candidate will be responsible for Printed Circuit Board design and layout using Altium CAD software, component verification, updating schematics, and managing the component database.Essential Functions· Under the direction of Electronic Engineers update design files for production implementation.· Design new PCB's/PCA's in support of product development projects.· Check status of components to determine if RoHS compliant, obsolete, end?of?life. Find alternate components to replace non?conforming parts.· Update PCB layout to reflect changes made to schematics, as well as updating for RoHS compliance.· Conduct verification testing on prototype PCA's to support production implementation.· Perform other design activities as required in support of Product Engineers.· Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks.Qualifications· Minimum 5 years related industrial work experience in PCB design and layout.· Strong understanding of design considerations "rules" related to PCB design and layout.· Strong problem solving skills and ability to make sound technical decisions.· Demonstrate a high attention to detail.· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work on multiple PCA's concurrently.· Effective written and verbal communication skills.· Experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other office productivity software.· Experience with Altium CAD software preferredVolt is an Equal Opportunity Employer
