An organization in the insurance space is looking to expand their cyber security operations with the addition of a Senior Network Security Engineer. Senior Network Security Engineers are responsible for providing operational security solutions that contribute to the success of IT and business plans. Security engineers interact with IT teams, account managers, business customers, third parties, vendors, and auditors across the enterprise. Security engineers collaboratively design (together with security architects) and implement security solutions that can be effectively delegated to security analysts or other support / operations functions. The scope of security engineers covers technical and managerial controls to protect and make IT and business systems available. This is a Splunk senior position on the rapidly growing Splunk team. Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in information security
  • 5+ years of VPN, PKI, Next-Gen Firewalls, NAC, Intrusion Detection, and Networking experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Similar
  • Experience with Palo Alto and Cisco Firewalls
  • AWS and Azure Cloud Experience
  • Prisma Cloud, Prisma Compute, and xSOAR Cloud Security Technologies Experience
  • Extensive experience in Splunk programming language (SPL), alert methods, and dashboards
  • Requires experience in Splunk Enterprise Security, and experience in cloud environments is preferred
  • Requires assistance in data entry and assistance in query creation of data, dashboards and Splunk data Models and related searches
  • Need to implement information security technology and/or process experience
  • Need product evaluation and supplier relationship management experience
  • Define information security strategy and integrate security technology into enterprise framework
  • Must have UNIX/AIX, Microsoft NT/2000 working knowledge, multi-layer firewall design and implementation, router access list/packet filtering (CISCO), WAN, LAN, Internet, Intranet, network protocols and network services (ie telnet, ftp, etc.), intrusion detection system, Virtual private network (VPN), two-factor authentication

What You Will Be Doing Daily Responsibilities • Leading technical guidance for the design and implementation of security solutions for enterprise technology infrastructure and business applications • Participate in all stages of security service support project planning, including functional requirements, design specifications, testing and quality assurance, implementation, and support • Leadership Engineering services and technical support to update existing security systems and strive to automate processes related to security implementation, monitoring and enforcement • Investigate, recommend, evaluate, implement, and integrate security tools and technologies to improve the protection of company assets and basic facilities • Participate in the technical risk assessment and security exposure analysis of systems, networks, and business applications • Evaluate and implement security equipment d, such as firewalls, IDS, IPS, threat correlation tools, vulnerability management tools, encryption capabilities, etc. • Analyze elements and designs of the network k to guarantee the security and the best performance and profitability of the system and the network • Supervise the purchase, installation, and support of security equipment • Responsible for evaluating and managing the security risks of information from existing systems • Support plan to carry out large-scale systems projects by comparing vendors and researching costs. • Monitor, report, and resolve all security-related issues and discrepancies. • Participate as a member of the information security incident response team • Interact with internal and external clients on security requirements, determine security procedures and formulate strategies / solutions for security problems, maintaining strict security discipline • Develop test plans and implement them Stringent tests before implementing the new system in the production environment • Lead the investigation of cybersecurity incidents The Offer
