Data management

Title: Bioinformatic Engineer (Data Management) Contract: 1 year (possible extension) Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080 (Remote during Covid) Start Date: ASAP No C2C/Corp-to-Corp Must be authorized to work in US without restriction or sponsorship Requirements:

• Local contractor to help team in the bioinformatics department on various bioinformatics data management tasks.
• Sequencing Data for researchers
• Analyzing Data
• (Candidate needs to be onsite at least 3-4 days/week, they can work 1 day remote)

• Bachelors, Master, or PHD, degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biotechnology, Biology, Agronomy, or other related degree.
• 3+ years of Business Analysis experience in Science related field.
• Working knowledge of bioinformatics datatypes, tools and analyses (i.e. RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, etc)
• Experience utilizing Relational databases, SQL/ORM concepts, as well as NoSQL data stores
• Good knowledge of a scripting language (R, python, Perl etc), e.g. in order to program against various REST interfaces
• Efficient use of the Linux shell for everyday data management tasks
• Attention to details and independent work
• Good communication skills
• The ideal candidate has some real life experience from working in the biotech industry, but a sharp graduate from a Bioinformatics program could work as well.
• Nice to have: Human Genotype experience
