Visual Designer. NOTE: ONLY LOCAL W2 CANDIDATES Candidate must be authorized to work in USA without requiring sponsorship Position: Visual Designer (Job Id: CFNJP00039733)Location: San Jose CA 95131Duration: 12 Months + Possible Extension Temp only or contract to hire position: potentially both if it’s the right candidate • Work hours: full-time (40/week) • Remote or onsite/both: both after Covid • Interviews: phone, video • 3 must haves on a resumes: Willingness to learn, at least 1 year experience as a visual designer, UI software skills (Figma, Miro, Zeplin, Photoshop, Illustrator) Client is seeking an Interaction/Visual Designer to create user interfaces for a variety of medical applications, instruments and mobile devices. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. Ongoing design and development work includes both Windows Embedded and desktop applications development, as well as web-based and mobile device interfaces. Responsibilities Executes interaction design and visual design as part of a multi-disciplinary team Collaboratively plans and designs with engineers in an Agile-based environment. Develops, follows, and communicates design guidelines, patterns, style sheets and libraries to create uniformity within the software engineering organization and brand recognition with our customers. In addition to the UX/UI design, a successful candidate will be willing to work as part of a software engineering team, participating in design documentation, unit test, code review, version control, defect tracking, and schedule development. Qualifications BA/BS/BFA degree in Design or any of the Sciences(e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications). 1-3 years of relevant work experience. Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Zeplin, Photoshop, Illustrator). Understanding of the user-centered design process. Experience working with low and high-fidelity prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Sketch, Invision, Adobe XD…etc. Experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment. Interest in microbiology or other life sciences applications is desirable. Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.
