Responsibilities
  • Reports to the JDE Manager, the Senior Functional Analyst (SFA) is responsible for supporting the payroll function and successfully implementing advanced configurations and business changes.
  • The SFA works closely with across IT and business teams to implement best practice enterprise processes.
  • The successful SFA must have a deep understanding of the IT Enterprise process and be able to promote best practices across a complex enterprise.
  • Must be able to keep confidential sensitive data regarding?employees. Must stay current on cyber policies. Candidate must follow best practices and statutory policies ( i.e. CCPA ) when handling sensitive data.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the HR, Payroll & IT Departments.
  • Be influential in the adoption of standard business processes. Work with business units and acquisitions to successfully implement processes.
  • Make recommendations on payroll processes.
  • Responsible for translating business requirements into specific Payroll configurations in the JDE system.
  • Build and configure business solutions for business process owners by developing useful solutions, testing new configurations, and provide ongoing maintenance and support of the configuration.
  • Guide the initial analysis and assessment of proposed enhancements and ongoing production support issues Business and IT teams.
  • Responsible for ad hoc and regular & routine system updates including (e.g. Vertex updates for tax purposes, Job code creation, Business Units, etc.)
  • Manage the HR & Payroll interfaces, including management of system errors.
  • Create and validate reports using standard tools such as reports now.
  • Adhere to the Enterprise SDLC processes to design, build, test, and implement reporting applications.
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials for all process improvements, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance. Mentoring others in creating standard documentation.
  • Implement processes that are accurate, streamlined, and well documented with an emphasis on providing timely and accurate data to the business.
  • Assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of functional specs. Work to direct and maintain business requirements with the Business Analysts.
  • Work with technical teams to develop prototypes and solutions to demonstrate capabilities to business units and customers.
  • Collaborate and direct developers as needed to meet functional goals.
  • Independently project manage small projects, leading application, infrastructure and business resources utilizing the SDLC model.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team.

Skills
  • The SFA should have skills in Payroll JDE configuration, data migration, and integration. These skills will be utilized to work with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate value through prototypes, documents, and presentations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Computer Science/Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5 years of comparable experience in Payroll JDE.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new business teams. This includes leadership in acquisitions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong data analysis, design and testing skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently and to seek out and generate innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams on overlapping projects.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members.
  • Must be a critical thinker with the ability to come up with original and/or creative ideas.
  • Strong relationship management to work / consult with users.
  • Express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
